Welcome to the Greater Spokane Aerospace Consortium. This site will provide you with all of the resources you’ll need to understand the tremendous impact that the aerospace industry has throughout the greater Spokane region.

The Aerospace Consortium is a collaborative effort of Greater Spokane Incorporated, the local Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the City of Spokane, Spokane County and the Spokane International Airport.

Spokane and the Inland Northwest are home to over 80 manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and educational opportunities and service organizations related to the aerospace industry. Career opportunities can range from CNC Machinists, Aerospace Engineers, and Air Traffic Controllers which have a Median Annual Salary of $102,000!

Aerospace related companies and public agencies directly employed some 6,500 workers and contributed over $513 million to the Inland Northwest economy. With a projected growth rate of 5.3% per year in Washington, the aerospace industry is poised to offer many rewarding career opportunities.

Lt. Governor Brad Owen stated the following regarding Spokane Aerospace at the luncheon address for NASA Future Forum on January 25 at the Seattle Museum of Flight:

"While most of the activity is centered in the Puget Sound region, the impact of aerospace is felt statewide. Spokane, one of the large cities in our state and nearly 300 miles from Seattle, has a major effort under way to attract more investment in aerospace, and can already trace 16,000 area jobs to the industry, with about 10 percent of those jobs in direct manufacturing related to avionics. So Washington state, thanks to solid programs in engineering, math, science and vocational education is positioned very well in aerospace programs for the United States, for planet earth and far beyond."

A career in aerospace puts you on the leading edge of technology in an innovative and fast-paced environment. According to the Bureau Labor Statistics, production workers in the aerospace industry earn higher pay than the average for all other industries.
